No pude comprarlo, así que lo hice.
En 2021, mi hermano llevaba su pen y sus agujas sueltos en el bolso. Soy ingeniero de desarrollo, así que diseñé un estuche en CAD y lo imprimí en 3D. Después pregunté a 150 personas con diabetes qué llevan realmente, y de ahí vienen las cuatro ranuras para agujas. Lo necesario para un día.
La tapa del pen se queda dentro del estuche porque no paraba de rodar por las mesas de los restaurantes.
En 2022 intenté financiar mediante micromecenazgo el molde de inyección, pero fracasé. Así que lo pagué yo mismo y empecé con 300 estuches. Después siguieron once meses de muestras de ida y vuelta hasta conseguir las tolerancias adecuadas.
Por eso esto no es una bolsa de tela de 9 €. Es un estuche rígido moldeado, diseñado en Schleswig-Holstein, y 12.000 personas llevan uno.

Does my pen fit?

How many needles fit inside?
Four, held in a fixed ladder so nothing rattles around. That is one day worth — the number came from surveying 150 people with diabetes before the case was ever built.
Will it fit in a pocket or a handbag?
Yes. 18,2 x 4,8 x 3,2 cm, 105 g — roughly the size of a glasses case. It lies flat in a jacket pocket and will not snag in a bag.
What is it made of?
An injection-moulded ABS hardshell. Designed in northern Germany and built to be dropped, sat on, or thrown into a rucksack.
Does it keep my insulin cool?
No. The case does not cool and is not insulated — it protects and organises. If you need cooling, take a look at the DIAVY Fridge Pen Holder.
Does it fit safety needles?
Not yet. It currently fits standard pen needles. Safety needles are on our list — email us at hello@diavycase.com and we will let you know when that changes.
